Welcome to the Town of Fairfax! Whether you are a long-time or new resident, a visitor, or doing business with our community, we welcome you and hope you will find this website a useful resource.

Wondering what's happening in your town? Here's a partial list of current events and topics in board and commission meetings.
The Town Council will meet on September 1 (details below) to discuss several public works improvement projects, to discuss the revised Master Fee Schedule, to discuss a temporary moratorium on marijuana dispensaries in the town, to amend the town's smoking ordinance, and other topics. Agenda and Packet
The Town Council met on August 4 and unanimously passed an urgency ordinance that places a one year moratorium on the deployment of smart meters in Fairfax. PG&E representatives were also present at the Council meeting and told the Council that they would voluntarily halt the deployment of the controversial smart meters in Fairfax immediately. PG&E also promised to hold several community meetings so that they could hear the concerns and questions from residents and businesses and then respond to those questions and concerns. A summary of the meeting results is available on our Town Manager's Blog. Or go to the council archive page to access the recording of the meeting.
Additionally, you can read Ordinance No. 752, which describes the temporary moratorium on Smart Meters in Fairfax, by clicking here.
The Planning Commission, General Plan Advisory Committee and Affordable Housing Committee met on August 26 to discuss the Housing Element of the General Plan. Various proposals will be put forward during the meeting for discussion. Please refer to the agenda for details.
