Citizens' Disaster Council

The Public Review Draft of the Town of Fairfax Flood Mitigation Plan is now available for public review and comment. The plan provides a comprehensive strategy to guide community efforts designed to reduce the damage, loss and disruption from future flood events. The Plan is a culmination of a year-long planning process funded through a grant from the Federal Emergency Management agency. The Citizens' Disaster Council provided overall guidance to the planning effort, and public input was provided during the two Community Flood Planning Workshops held last July and November. The Draft Fairfax Flood Mitigation Plan is available in the Citizens' Disaster Council documents section.

The Town of Fairfax will hold public hearings to accept verbal and written comments on the Draft Plan at the Fairfax Town Council meetings on May 21, June 4 and June 18, 2008. All written comments will be accepted until June 18th.
