Fairfax Boards and Commissions Overview
Serving on a Board or Commission for the Town of Fairfax is a wonderful way to get involved in your community. By clicking on the navigation links to the left, you can learn more about each of the various groups. You are also welcome to attend their meetings, which are open to the public.
Each December, the Town posts a Local Appointments List (below), showing the current members as well as their terms. Those terms expiring in the new year are shown in boldface. Interested residents are encouraged to apply for the expiring terms.
From time to time, members resign prior to the expiration of their term. These “unscheduled vacancies” are publicized by a Notice which is posted on this website and on the bulletin boards in front of Town Hall, the Women’s Club, and in the Fairfax Post Office.
How to Join a Board or Commission
Fairfax residents may apply for both scheduled and unscheduled vacancies by submitting a completed application (form below). Applications are also available at the front counter of Town Hall, or by contacting Town Clerk Michele Gardner at email@example.com.
