Strategic Planning in the Town of Fairfax
In January of 2006, the Town Council began the first-ever process of setting aside time to focus on long-term and systemic planning for the Town’s future. This process involved holding special council meetings to discuss long- and short-term Council goals, concerns, and projects. This strategic planning and five-year strategic financial planning process has resulted in two documents which serve to focus Council, community and staff efforts on identifiable priorities, in addition to serving as a means for educating and informing the community and ourselves regarding the choices available to guide us to a healthy, secure and sustainable future as a municipal service provider reflecting the community’s needs and preferences.
The Town Council will hold a Special Council Meeting on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 9-12 NOON in the Women’s Club to update the Five-Year Strategic Financial Plan and the Strategic Plan document. This Special Council meeting is an opportunity for the public to express their priorities and will give the community a more accurate and current status of the Town’s financial position and allow for updating goals and discussing possible new goals and strategies for 2010.
